Time To Rekindle Your Goals

Tomorrow is the first day of June and most of us in the US have just come off of a 3 day weekend. What better time to rekindle our goals, made at the beginning of the year? Since June is the 6th month in the year, it marks the half way point of the year. How many of us start strong, for the first month or two of the year, and then fizzle out at some point. Imagine the renewed power you would have if you finished the last 6 months of the year, with your goals achieved and intact.

This could set a new goal oriented achievement milestone to finish the year strong, as opposed to beginning it strong and then fizzling out at some point along the way. So, what I plan to do and my challenge for everyone, is to just decide what you want to achieve, and implement your plan for the second half of the year. Instead of the beginning of the year. If you had an eating plan or a workout goal that you have strayed from, now is the time to beigin again.

I am really inclined to believe that finishing the year strong will actually produce more benefits than starting out strong and then just letting your goals fade with time. Now it is time to talk about goals and ways to achieve them. We all pretty much know that our amazing minds hold the key to our success and we act on what we think about. Therefore it’s probably a good idea to think about what you actually want. It’s also a good idea to make sure you actually want what you thought you wanted at the beginning of the year.

Goals aren’t really designed to be some type of burden to be checked off, just for the heck of it. They are just tools that we use to design steps to achieve what we want. For instance if you want a great looking body, you will need to eat well and exercise. So your goal steps may be to eat 3 healthy clean meals and two snacks a day, and go to the gym 3 times a week and do additional cardio 3 times a week.

This is a great goal and good steps to achieve the goal, but with some more examination you may be able to fine tune this goal, so that it is actually more sustainable and beneficial. For instance a great looking body is nice, but wouldn’t a smarter goal be, to become strong and healthy, and a great looking body is just one of the side effects of that health. This way you shift from waiting for the results to show, and start immediately enjoying the benefits of increased strength and health.

During each workout you will feel your increased strength and you will notice your increased health every day. Eventually you will notice your body starts to look better too. So you can start enjoying the benefits of exercise and feeling good right away as you chip away at your longer term goals. No matter what your goals are or what area of your life you choose to focus on, if you begin now you will finish the year on a strong note. Now is the time to start your goals and resolutions over, and have this be the year that you actually accomplish them.
